Meet Tara Harvey, Ph.D.
Hello! I’m Tara. I’m on a mission to help all educators learn to better navigate cultural differences, create more inclusive communities, and integrate intercultural learning into their work.
I founded True North Intercultural in 2016 because I’ve learned a lot about intercultural teaching and learning in the past 20+ years, and want to share this with other educators so we can do good together. My doctoral studies and research examined the complex process of facilitating intercultural learning. In addition, I’ve worked in various areas of international education, developed and taught intercultural courses, and been an intercultural coach and trainer.
I created this free training to answer some of the questions I’m most frequently asked, and increase understanding and involvement in intercultural learning in higher education. My hope is that it will help you better understand what intercultural competence entails, why it’s important, and how you can get started. I encourage you to use the training to start a conversation about building intercultural competence at your school or organization!
